JUST LET ME GET MY SPECS...

East London band Spector have burst on to the music scene with a brand new indie-esque sound that completely defies the mandatory sound of 2012. Their music, so uplifting, joyous and pounding, would be the perfect soundtrack to long summers filled with road trips, adventures, freedom. They have a wonderfully unique sound that hasn't been approached in a long time, so Spector are definitely a band to watch out for....

Fred Macpherson, front man of the band, has a crooning nostalgia filled voice that guides every lyric over the racing, upbeat guitar chords and foot tapping drum beats. If none of their songs puts a smile on your face or has you tapping your fingers, feet or jumping up and down in happiness, well I'll be perplexed to say the least!
The band, who are currently touring the UK, have released a couple of songs, namely 'Chevy Thunder' and 'Celestine', both favourites of DJ's like Nick Grimshaw, Zane Lowe, Huw Stepehens and the likes of Jools Holland.

Their newest release, 'Celestine', has seen the band receive more airplay on Radio One in particular and is almost certain to catch people's attention and divert it to a band who deserve to go far. 'Celestine' had me dancing around the kitchen in pure bliss, feeling like I was on the top of the world and also very excited for summer.

In a music industry that seems to follow a certain path, Spector are admirable for attempting to break the typical mold and stand out for an entirely different reason. Their music is different, their image is different, yet these differences are what make Spector so special. Indie rock has been out for a number of years now, being replaced by dance, techno, drum and bass, hip-hop, all fantastic in their own right. However a new era of indie-rock is emerging and with bands like Spector leading the way, I can't help but think that the current music scene will look a whole lot different in a few years time...
